What is Single Session Coaching?

Single Session Coaching is a brief, solutions-focused approach based off of the Single Session Therapy (SST) framework. This model aims to make the most out of each coaching encounter by 1) solely focusing on the employee’s current concerns, 2) emphasizing their abilities to deal with those concerns, and 3) equipping them with an action plan in one single session.

Why do we only focus on one session? Research has found that not only do most people attend only one therapy or coaching session before dropping off, but that one session is often all that is needed to improve their situation. Addressing one issue per session allows the employee to maintain a clear focus on the problem at hand and come to a plan of action, in less time than traditional coaching or therapy.

  • Mindly’s digital coaching consists of self-guided assessments that use insights and recommendations from our team of experts to find solutions to challenges managers are facing. This unique style of coaching is similarly effective to human-to-human coaching, without the need for a human coach.

  • Our framework is based off of Single Session Therapy, a therapeutic approach that emphasizes one issue per session to maintain a clear focus and to come out of the session with a plan of action. For more, see our Framework page.

  • Digital coaching is asynchronous, anonymous, low cost, convenient, and data-driven. Digital coaching makes it possible to reach a large number of people in a short amount of time, and allows for sessions whenever they are needed most.

  • Mindly keeps your information completely private from your employer. Mindly uses user data to compile general insights to share with the employer, along with anonymously adding it to our database to improve the Mindly product.

  • With Mindly, you can take as many sessions as you want! Please note that the intention of our product is to allow you to hone in on one situation at a time, so we limit the number of Action Plans at any given time to two.

  • We use your data primarily to improve our product and enhance your experience, including analyzing usage patterns, identifying areas for improvement, and personalizing features to better suit your needs. Additionally, we may aggregate and anonymize this data to provide valuable insights to your company and other users.
